The Screen Actor's Guild awards were last night, and I thought I'd do a little fashion wrap up of the red carpet.  First though, I have to give a huge shout out to my wonderful friend Lori Bergamotto.  She's a special correspondent at People magazine, and she was actually reporting live from the SAG's red carpet last night.  She truly is one of the best people you could ever know, and I'm perpetually lucky she remains not only my friend, but even let's me crash at her place.  Check out her behind the scenes video from the awards.

Now, onto the fashion.

This dress actually isn't that bad, but I'm still mad at Mimi from the Globes.  Although, I really shouldn't be mad at her, she did give me a lot of good fodder, but still.

Screen shot 2010-01-24 at 4.17.00 PMIt pains me to don't Sandra again because I do like her, and I really liked the Blind Side, both times I saw it.  In the theater.  But this dress is another complete misfire.  What is going on with the tinsel around the neckline?  Sandy, pookie, honey, I know you can do better.  You know you can do better.  You're a good looking, fit, A-lister.  Bring it.

Screen shot 2010-01-24 at 4.22.47 PMI really like this look on Marion Cotillard.  She's a cute girl, but I think sometimes she can age herself with what she chooses to wear, but not here.  This dress is young fresh, and even though it's a pale color, it plays beautifully off her skin tone.  Love it.

Screen shot 2010-01-24 at 4.21.23 PMWho let's Patricia Arquette on the red carpet?  Or any Arquette for that matter?

Screen shot 2010-01-24 at 4.20.16 PMThis is another tough one because I am totally devoted to Tina Fey and the irreverant genius that is 30 Rock, but what I don't like here is how in between this dress is.  As in it's on it's way to being a red carpet worthy dress, but it's still too cocktail for the importance of the evening.

Screen shot 2010-01-24 at 4.19.46 PMCarey Mulligan is a rising movie star, and if you saw last month's Vogue, she's a budding fashion star as well.  I have to concur here with this gorgeous Lanvin number.  I like the color and the left of expected drape.

Screen shot 2010-01-24 at 4.20.46 PMYou know JT, I think you're fab and all, but you're no actor, so you should be thanking your lucky stars actual Actors invited you.  So what do you do when you get there?  Where a blah suit with a DENIM tuxedo shirt?  Don't hold your breath for next year's invite buddy.

You know, it's not that I hate Diane Kruger's dress, but does anyone else feel like it's a sad imitation of Michelle Williams' gorgeousness from the 2006 Oscars?  Right down to the bright red lips.

By far the best of the evening is Christina Applegate.  The fit, the color, the pleating detail.  All perfection.

Screen shot 2010-01-24 at 4.21.51 PMSadly, the worst of the evening is Joan Allen.  Great lady, love her.  But, really?  You saw that necklace and thought " this would be perfect!"  I mean really?
